Sixty

As promised, here are all sixty drawings from my Self Portrait Project - the good, the bad and the one that looks like an alien.

I hadn't noticed till I put them all together like this how much I went through phases of drawing in certain styles or perspectives. I'm also pretty pleased to be able to say that I definitely like the later ones more than the first... progress!

Full Sketchbook!

Almost exactly six months after starting, my little Moleskine full of self portraits is full! That's sixty drawings in total - although there are a couple of utter disasters that were abandoned part way through. I certainly didn't manage one every day, but an average of ten a month doesn't seem too bad.

So, here is the last batch. Next week I'll try and do a post with the whole lot, disasters and all (teeny tiny images, so it won't be massive). Hopefully it'll be interesting to see them as a series.

Me, me, me...

I've not posted any of these for a while, but my little self portrait notebook is about two-thirds full now! I'm glad I've stuck at it as it's pretty cheering to look back and see signs of progress (albeit interspersed with some very odd looking attempts... might post some of them once it's full for amusement).

Whilst I'm off enjoying myself, this Sunday's sketchblog is just going to be some more of my self-portraits. I haven't been managing one a day, but a couple a week has been achievable.

I've set myself a new challenge. 


You know those people who take a picture a day for a year, or who post what they're wearing every day? I'm going to try my own version... a sketch of myself each day.


Not sure how long for... the little Moleskin notebook I have has sixty pages so hopefully I'll fill it. Oh, and only weekdays, unless I'm feeling very creative. I need no-plan days!
